Date Nights, etc...

T and I have been scheduling more date nights again-we used to do a weekly date night before Tait was born (gasp!-what were those days like?) but lately it's been a goal of every 2 weeks. Last week we went to RibFest-I was really proud of myself for planning something I knew Trent would enjoy. Anyone have any ideas for fun cheap date nights around this area?

Trent got ribs from "2 Fat Guys Barbecue" and voted them the best ribs he ever had. I was feeling carnivorous and got a turkey leg which was huge, and just ok. (I actually took it home later and made a turkey casserole out of the rest-how domestic is that?)

We've been trading babysitting with Margaret & Menno. It was super fun having their boys over while they went on a date of their own. Plus, Tait's so entertained by other kids, it's kind of like he's being babysat too( :

Trent and the boys put together the play yard. It was hilarious to watch. J and K gave orders and trent followed them.

Introducing my Dad!

This is my Dad. Isn't he great?

He makes a fun Grandpa too. I have lots of fun memories from growing up with my dad: Family vacations, reading my now-favorite books together like "Pilgrim's Progress" and "In His steps", and making Aslan the Lion out of snow in the front yard, singing Marvelous Toy, and of course heartbreaker country songs like "Tommy and Laura".

Happy Father's Day Dad! I am very thankful to have a great Dad like you. The only thing that would have made Father's Day better would be to have beaten you at Settlers of Catan, but that will have to be another night...(bwahahaha evil laugh) ( : Love, M.
