Two two two Photo Shoot!

Two-Tait's favorite number right now ( : Hard to believe he's not a baby anymore.
2 year pics:

He's kind of hard to take pics of right now because he doesn't like to look at the camera. Can anyone say onery!?

Grandmas, Aunts, Family, & whoever else wants a pic let me know if you want a certain size (& which pose) this weekend-otherwise, I'll just get a bunch of wallet size close-ups to pass out.

Sherlock Holmes, Please?

Something very suspicious happened at our house last week.

To preface this, I should say that several months ago Trent's car was broken into & his employer's GPS stolen & never returned, although the criminals were caught.

Our can opener was missing all week & everyone denied knowledge of it's last whereabouts. I even questioned Tait, and Trent was sure it was not at work. I was just about to file a missing person report when Trent rushed into the house to tell me that a heinous crime had occurred! Someone had broken into his car again and then broken into his lunch box and hidden his can opener there where it had gone unobserved all last week! Do you think this could be the person responsible for my favorite pair of boot socks M.I.A. & Trent's missing coffee thermos ?

We were both aghast! Such crime in our little municipality? Believe me, I wish I had a (incriminating) photo to go with this post ( :

Gifts

It's funny how kids teach me so much about the Lord. I've noticed that everyone loves to give Tait gifts, Trent & I included. Recently, Trent & Tait went on a Sunday morning walk to get milk, and Tait came marching back jubilantly holding up the sucker his Papa had bought for him (before breakfast, mind you! a double gift!). Tait was excited, but Trent probably more so, because he knew he'd gotten us the perfect little gifts-Tait got a sucker, and I got a Sunday morning paper ( :

So every time I do something special for Tait, I think of all the gifts that Christ has given me. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17

And just when I worry that God's gifts might be something uncomfortable, or not something I would choose, I'm reminded to trust his Abba-Papa sovereignty: If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! Matthew 7:11

Yeah, this is getting wordy, but I just finished reading a good book, and the last chapter summarized perfectly what God has been showing me through giving Tait gifts.

"God gives us something amazing when He gives us life, and I want to live with gratitude. I want to live in a way that shows how much I appreciate the gift. If life were a sweater, I would wear it every day. I wouldn't save it or keep it for a special occasion. I would find every opportunity to wear that sweater, and I'd wear it proudly, shamelessly, for days on end. . . It's rebellious, in a way, to choose joy . . . It's much easier and much more common to be miserable . . . and I want my everyday to make God belly laugh, glad that he gave life to someone who loves the gift, who will use it up and wring it out and drag it around like a favorite sweater."

I guess this post is more accountability than anything. Those who know us well, don't allow us to get away with ingratitude ( :

So, how do you celebrate life and "wear out that favorite sweater"?
