Domesticity Experiment: Rolling Sushi
-Nori nori (the seaweed wrap)
-Veggies julienned (carrots, cucumbers, steamed asparagus...)
-cream cheese
-Crabmeat (or imitation) & Smoked Salmon (notice, nothing is truly raw here out of respect for hubby)
-avocado
-green onions or chives
-sushi rice, cooked & sprinkled with rice wine vinegar until sticky
Lay out a bamboo mat if you have one, spread the nori nori on top, & then spread out the cooked sushi rice up to one inch from the edge of the nori nori border (to allow the seaweed to stick together once you roll it). Roll the mat to get things started & tightly roll sushi into wrap, then slice in 1" sections. Yum!
If you have leftover ingreds, this sushi salad recipe looks great:

We also had some great time just being together with our family-Eating out, eating in, playing outside, Settlers & great chats! Sometimes the best conversations seem to happen quite unintentionally & we loved every minute of it.
